Tucker’s “The Secret” IWB has been jumping off the shelves.

Sometimes a new product just connects and the “Secret” IWB has connected so well that it’s the most successful product launch Tucker’s ever had.

Come see what the fuss is about – here.

Tucker’s got a “Secret.”

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 21st June 2009

Before Tucker designed the Texas Heritage he created an IWB design that’s been locked in the gun vault now for years.

It’s “The Secret.”

We’ve heard from customers who don’t tuck in their shirt over their carry gun and don’t need the special features of the Texas Heritage.

Just for them, and maybe for YOU, we’ve brought “The Secret” out of the dark place into the light of day.

the-secret-001-med

The Secret is more compact than the Texas Heritage and has leather belt loops instead of belt clips, but it shares the good parts of the Texas Heritage.

It’s made from Hermann Oak premium leather, it’s comfortable and extremely concealable. It’s also value-priced.

It comes only in natural un-dyed leather, but you can order the belt loops in natural, brown or black to suit the belt you’re wearing. The sweatshield is standard.

Until July 1st, 2009, there’s a special sale price to introduce “The Secret” and a short 2-week turnaround from the time you place your order here.

Don’t wait until the price goes up July 1st.

Two-Day Front Sight handgun training course for $100 (usually $1000)

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 15th April 2009

I have no connection with Front Sight. I just know people who have spoken highly of the training available.

Front Sight is offering a limited time $100 Defensive Handgun Course at their facility if you pay for a certificate by April 20th. This must be your FIRST course with them.

top_rev_logo

Once you have the certificate you can use it any time in the future for the two-day Defensive Handgun Course. It’s a full two days from 7:30 in the morning to 5:30 both days.

Their email offer is too long to post here, and I’m not going to spam my email list with this offer.

I think this is a good deal. If you want more information, they don’t have a link to this offer – only an email I received.

If you want more information, email me at Rob@Tuckergunleather.com, put Front Sight Offer as the subject and I’ll forward the email to you.

If you want this, your check to Front Sight must be postmarked by April 20th, so don’t dawdle, dilly dally or otherwise procrastinate.

Tucker Gunleather – sharing the good stuff when we can.

Price increase on Tucker’s decorative stamping

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 3rd March 2009

Tucker has been spending more time on stamping a holster or belt, than cutting and sewing it. It’s clear that he hasn’t been charging nearly enough for his time and it’s also very hard on his hands and arms.

It’s painstaking, exacting work and the result of 30 years of practice. No apprentice can duplicate it.

On orders accepted on March 15th, 2009 and beyond, Tucker’s price for stamping will more than double. Tucker will continue to do all stamping personally.

Full stamp will be $90 on a holster or belt and Border stamp on a holster will be $45. On a complete rig with stamping, the average increase will be approximately $100.

There is some good news. Unstamped orders will get out the door in less than half the time than they have been. Stamped orders will remain around 8-9 months unless the price increase reduces the number of stamped orders (which is expected).

If you are considering placing an order before March 15, to beat the price increase, we will accept a 20% down payment at time of order with balance to be paid upon completion and shipment. (Be sure to use a credit card because Paypal will take the total price immediately.)

NRA Life Memberships – Special Opportunity

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 27th February 2009

NRA Life Memberships are usually $1000. Until March 31st, 2009, you can get one for $300. If you recently renewed, I believe you can upgrade for the difference.

One hitch – you have to be “sponsored” (probably not the right word) by a life member to get it. What that means is, when you  call the NRA Member services you need to have the Life Member number of a buddy to give them.

Call 1-877-NRA-2000 and press #3 for Life Memberships. You may have to wait on hold a couple of minutes.

I just upgraded and I’m now a LIFE MEMBER of the NRA. That feels pretty darn good.

It’s something we can do to let Mr. Obama where we stand.

A blog worth frequent visits.

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 25th February 2009

I recently recommended a book called “The Three Laws of Performance” by Steve Zafron and Dave Logan. I’ve been handing out copies to my friends. I’d like to recommend a copy to you.

Why talk about this on a holster-related blog? My customers occur to me as my friends and I want the best for them, for you. I like to share resources as well as rant against what I see that doesn’t work. This book is a resource for a future you didn’t think was possible.

The authors also have a blog and it’s well worth a visit. If you’re wondering how to interact with the current economy you may enjoy reading one of their blog posts entitled, “The Two Recessions.” Check it out and visit frequently. The book and the blog may offer you some access to some personal power you forgot you have.

Is Colt back in the game?

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 29th December 2008

Is Colt back in the commercial market – selling to folks like us, instead of focusing on the military?

A recent article, “The Curious Case of Colt,” in the new NRA American Rifleman online newsletter, reminds us that Colt is considered by many to be the first name in American firearms. Where’d they go? How did they allow Kimber and Springfield and others to take over most of the 1911 market?

For the last 15 years Colt has been focused on production of the M4 and M4A1 Carbine for the U.S. Army. Now that contract is coming to an end, and Colt is back looking at the Consumer market. Want to see them back?

A recent offering is the Colt Combat Elite, a nice looking pistol, but does it match up with offerings from other makers who’ve stepped into the handgun market with lots of features for the price?

Read more about it in the American Rifleman Newsletter, a welcome new online publication from the NRA.

Whatever 1911 you have, you’ll want to consider a high-value Tucker Gunleather holster for it. Even though Tucker’s HF1 belt holster, known for jaw-dropping good looks, has a 7-8 month wait, we get new orders for them every day.  Click picture below to enlarge.

In a hurry? The Tucker Gunleather Silent Thunder leather-lined kydex holsters ship in 2-3 weeks. We will be enlarging our production facility for Silent Thunder in the near future to keep the turnaround tight despite the growth in orders.  Here’s a review that sends many customers our way.
