Reviews of Tucker’s new kydex holsters are beginning to show up online. Here’s one that popped up today, well-written by Don DeBusk and published in the M1911.org ezine.
There’s also a link to a discussion forum as well.
This is one of many reviews and articles about Tucker’s new Kydex holsters. There are several gun writers with samples in hand, writing articles right now.
One of the reasons I’m so excited about these new holsters is the wonderful feedback we’re getting, but another is that we can actually grow our business with orders we can ship within a couple of weeks instead of adding to our backlog.
Our kydex Easy Reach and Silent Thunder holsters ship in 3 weeks from time of order.

You bet! Tucker’s Answer IWB is still one of our best sellers. More importantly, we still get the great comments from happy customers:
“Hi Rob:
The Answer arrived with this afternoon’s mail. In a word, ‘Nice!’ I am very impressed with the level of workmanship and care that went into crafting the holster and would be grateful if you would take a moment to convey my appreciation to Mr. Tucker the next time you speak to him. He is indeed an artist. It is easy to understand now why Tucker Gunleather has such a loyal following.
Thanks again. Best, Evan”
“After having had “The Answer” for these past months and wearing it daily, I can honestly state it will be a challenge each day to decide which holster I wear. (He’s comparing to the new Silent Thunder he just received.) Both are very comfortable (that makes them comforting) to wear, “tuckable”, secure and of the highest quality. Thanks for the great products, the amazing service, sincere help you provided and the honesty with which you deal. I will continue to recommend you to everyone that has a question or need for a superb quality holster.”
“Just got my Answer in the mail yesterday. This is one QUALITY holster! It’s much better workmanship in my opinion than the M tac. My Glock 27 is in it right now as I am wearing it around the house. i found the “middle” adjustments of the clips to work the best for me. Anyway, I can’t say enough good things about it. Glock Talk “
“+ one on the quality! I’ve had my “Answer” on with my G19 for the 5 hour drive from Phoenix to Las Vegas, no problem. Glock Talk”
“I wear it for up to 18 hours a day and don’t even notice it. I have an XD45C in it. Glock Talk”
“Answer all the way…I love mine…I wore it with my G27 yesterday from the time I got up until I went to bed, very comfortable. The suede backing is awesome, their clips are perfect. I tried an M-Tac and it wasn’t for me. Try both and you’ll see…Tucker’s “Answer” has been my best investment yet as far as holsters go!!!! Glock Talk 04/28/08.”

This is the Tucker Gunleather blog, right? We should be talking about holsters, right?
OK, will do.
Tucker’s new Silent Thunder leather-lined kydex holsters are flying off the shelves. We’ve been getting them out the door in 3 weeks or less and we’ve got a great product.

Click here to read a recent email from the proud owner of a Silent Thunder belt holster.
I’d say he likes it. What do you think?
Don’t need the leather lining. No problem. We make the Easy Reach Kydex holsters just for you. You get tremendous adjustability and complete tension control. Why struggle with what you’ve got if it’s not just right for you? Visit our website.

Hidden Beauty – Tucker Gunleather – by Mark Hanten
“I got Tucker’s Cover Up for Springfield Armory’s new EMP 9mm 1911 and have been carrying it every day. It’s absolutely outstanding — thin enough I can stick it inside the waistband of any pants and it’s secure.”
Here’s the complete article in American Cop March/April 2008 edition.

Is Tucker’s work worth the wait? Where else can you get this distinctive look and the quality to back it up? Here’s a 1911 Forum post that shows a great example.

Peter Passick was nice enough to put this picture together and send it to me with permission for me to post it. (Note: It’s black cherry with a swirl cut stamp.)
Anyone else like to send me your pictures to Rob@Tuckergunleather.com?
Thanks, Peter. Great pic!

A recent gun forum post suggested you test your holster by inserting an unloaded gun and then rolling around the floor while wildly flailing arms and legs for 30 seconds and then reaching for your gun to see if it’s still in position.
One of the responders posted the following:
“My the Answer survived a 40mph dirt bike wreck, in which I broke my foot and rolled around before coming to a stop. Gun was still holstered and in the same place as always. Does that count?”
We don’t claim a performance advantage from this event, but it certainly isn’t bad news.

If you’re eagerly waiting for your order to be delivered I want you to know how much I appreciate your patience. I know that lead times have been extended several times and that can be disappointing. Know that Tucker really is turning out a lot of work – in fact, I’m leaving in a few minutes to go pick up another large batch of orders to ship tomorrow. Yours is coming soon.
I thought you’d like a reminder of why you picked Tucker Gunleather in the first place and I think Aaron from San Antonio said it very well in an email to me yesterday:
“Mr. Longenecker,
I wanted to let you know that my order got here promptly after your e-mail, and I have been wearing the full rig for a week now. All I can say is that the workmanship is absolutely head and shoulders above anything else I have owned (which includes several other well known holsters).
As you probably recall, my order included an HF1 for a Glock 20, a Tucker gunbelt, and double angled magazine pouch, all with crosscut.
The belt is not only great looking, but supports the weight almost effortlessly. I am really impressed with how narrow a profile the HF1 has when worn. When picking it up by itself, I was a little worried that it would create a bulky profile…but when worn, it seems to tuck my Glock in at just the right angle and has a slimmer profile than my OWB 1911 (which I realize should violate mathmatical laws).
My wife was absolutely amazed at how great everything looks, and she said that she wished we had open carry just to show it off.
I’m pretty sure that you have heard all of these remarks before, but I wanted to let you know how pleased I am. I know how busy it has been for your business, and that wait times have lengthened, but please feel free to let other customers know that although the wait was tough, having a carry rig that I am this happy with I would have ordered it from you if you told me it was twice the wait!
I have been happy to hand out the business cards you sent, and recommend your product every chance I get. Thanks to you and everyone at Tucker Gunleather for running a business with a great product in an honest manner.”
Aaron in San Antonio.

I recently followed up with a repeat customer from Virginia on his order for a Tucker Answer IWB, two IWB mag pouches and two Bullhide belts he had bought about a year ago. I thought his email was interesting and so will you. He uses his gear harder than many and it’s holding up just great.
“Yeah, the Answer holster and the two IWB mag pouches I bought have survived very nicely considering they get more use than was probably ever intended.
Between IDPA matches and practice, the Answer holster probably sees 500 draws and holsterings a month, and it’s still good as new.
I also bought two very sturdy 1-3/4″ Bullhide belts with the velcro sewn in that are worn daily as well as for IDPA matches and USPSA, GSSF, three-gun and ICORE matches with “other makers” holsters, mag pouches, and shotshell strippers clamped and strapped to them. They also look nearly brand new, even with all the heavy gear I hang on them and all the rough kydex loops I slide onto them.
They’re worth far more than a dozen flimsy leather belts and they’re easily as sturdy as the best web belts, with the added advantage of being able to wear them with anything from gardening grubbies to business casual. (Easily worth double the wait and twice the price. But don’t charge me twice, please.”
D.K. from Virginia.

Tucker’s Answer IWB Holster gets a great deal of positive press, but this time it’s the Texas Heritage IWB’s turn.
We ship almost as many Texas Heritage holsters as Answer holsters, despite the lopsided publicity in the Answer’s favor. I’m glad the word is out on just how comfortable and concealable the Texas Heritage has proven to be.

Here’s a link to a detailed review with pictures on the HKPRO Forum.
Note: What’s the one thing I didn’t need Tucker to tell me?
I didn’t want to hear it, but I’ll tell you about it in my next blog post.
