Ain’t so

Posted by Rob Longenecker on April 4th, 2009

You may have been hearing stories that 90% of the guns used in the Mexican drug wars have come from the U.S.

You may have heard that’s another reason to re-institute more restrictions on gun sales.

The story is just NOT TRUE. It ain’t so.

Fox News has this report.

This was just on ABC Nightline:

    (excerpt from blog)

“American gun sales keep the cartels armed. Ninety percent of the weapons seized in Mexico come from the United States. Meanwhile, millions of Americans just keep getting high, an irony that causes Mayor Reyes concern.”

Ninety percent vs. seventeen percent: What’s the big deal? They’re pretty close, right?
