Discover Robert A. Hall’s blog – “The Old Jarhead”

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 30th March 2009

The post that got my attention first is this one from February called, “I’m Tired.”

It’s a commentary on what we’re all dealing with now.

I couldn’t express it any better.

http://www.tartanmarine.blogspot.com/is where to find Robert’s blog.

Customer experience exactly matches….

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 28th March 2009

Today’s email brought a thank you and review on a recent arrival of a new Tucker Texas Heritage IWB.

The customer’s experience exactly describes the intention of the design of the holster.

It’s great that he noticed/felt exactly what Tucker set out to accomplish with this holster.

“Rob,

I finally received my carry permit a week or so ago, and have now had a chance to wear my Texas Heritage holster with my XD 40 Sub-compact.  I am really amazed at how comfortable it is to wear and how well a tucked shirt hides my pistol.

The holster does a great job keeping my pistol away from my body – there are no sharp edges.  The slight pressure is actually comforting after awhile.  There are certainly no security issues with this holster, my XD fits snugly but draws easily.  Given the top quality leather and workmanship, and perfect functionality, I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase.

Best regards, Austin”

Guns at work

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 26th March 2009

Good news for Texans. The Texas Senate unanimously approved legislation that would allow people to carry firearms to work and store them in their parked vehicles outside.

Straight talk – don’t you love it?

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 26th March 2009

It’s so great to hear straight talk, especially when it’s well-said. Daniel Hannan, a British Member of Parliament, tells Prime Minister of the UK, Gordon Brown how the cow ate the cabbage. Watch this video and watch for Daniel Hannan in the future.

You don’t have to agree with everything Hannan says to appreciate his willingness to say how it is.

Do you like high performance jet aircraft?

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 25th March 2009

Well, I sure do. Many have seen the new F-22 Raptor in action, but not much on the new F35 Joint Strike fighter.

This video was produced by Lockheed-Martin and shows a lot of pride in their products – just like Tucker.

5th Generation Fighters Enjoy!

Many years ago, I flew an A-7 Corsair II while in VA-72, aboard the John F. Kennedy.

Yes, I’d take a few more day traps.

It’s the Future, Stupid! A great blog post!

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 22nd March 2009

Recently I recommended a book called, “The Three Laws of Performance.”

In this current blog post, the authors address what we say about our current economic/financial/political situation. They suggest that we create an inspiring future to pull us forward instead of waiting for this to “be over.” Check it out.

The experience of life is given by the future we’re living into.

I’m the first to complain and gripe, but I do believe they have a point.

Feds Deny End to Pilot Gun Program

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 21st March 2009

Thanks to Dave, one of our regular readers, we have an update to the story that Obama wants to end the Airline Pilot Gun Program. Officials say, “No, no, no there are no plans to curtail the program.”

Update here.

That’s a good thing. Unfortunately, we learn that Concealed Carry in National Parks has been suspended. Here are the details on that.

The NRA is filing an appeal.

Obama Wants to Disarm U.S. Pilots

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 19th March 2009

“The Obama administration is taking steps to quietly shut down the program that qualifies commercial airline pilots to carry firearms……”

Here’s a link to the story.

This makes me think of the following example of how well Obama is prepared to be commander in chief. Imagine if Obama’s voice came over the speaker on your next airline flight:

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. I’ve had no flight training, but I’ve read the manual twice and I was awarded ‘best voice on the intercomm’ so sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.”

Then, heard in the background on the open mike, “Where’s the teleprompter on this thing?”

Save your brass.

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 18th March 2009

The Obama administration is behind a move to prevent used military brass from reaching reloaders – commercial or individual.

Police departments will be greatly impacted because a lot of remanufactured ammo is used by PD’s for practice; the price will go up and supply will go down.

Same for the average shooter.

In future, any used brass from the military will have to be deformed or crushed to make it useless except for the value of the metal alone.

Here’s more information.

Every day it’s something else from this crowd that makes you determined to throw them out the next election.
