Strategy of Manufactured Crisis

Posted by Rob Longenecker on December 13th, 2008

This article is not for everyone. If you’re an Obama supporter, it will just piss you off. If you are tired of politics and don’t want to get upset again, just ignore this post. If you like short, brief little nuggets of information, this ain’t one of those. This is the whole enchilada, not a few tasty morsels.

I’m watching the direction this country is headed right now and wondering how people actually ignored the facts about the O-man and allowed this to happen. It’s not just him, it’s the whole bunch of leftimaniacs that want to tear down the best parts of this country so they will have more control of our lives. They want to take what’s yours, grab what’s theirs and smash what’s been ours up until now.

If you’ve got the stomach for it, here’s the link.  (Better have a bottle of Pepto handy.)

    Rob,

Have faith in America and remember democracy goes to those who show up. Keep in regular contact with your elected leaders and let them know your causes for concern. At least you’re down in Texas. Here in New England I do not have a single Republican representative or Senator at the federal level for the entire region. That’s six states and they’re all Democrats. I am in some deep doo-doo.

What really gets my goat is in a year when the financial crisis is worse not better, because there is no more industry in this country, and crime starts going up the Democrats are going to sweep in with new restrictive gun control laws so they can say to the people “Look we’re doing something to fight crime. Isn’t that wonderful?” And most people will buy it because they didn’t pay attention in civics class and they don’t realize that they are the masters of their own destiny.

If you really want to get upset go read about the October Revolution of 1917. The parallels in events between then and now is really scary. Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.

Keep your powder dry Rob, and I’ll catch you on the flip side.

Thanks for bringing this fascinating column to our attention. I must point out, though, that manufactured crises and Federal bribery are hardly new to our generation; LBJ passed Medicare on the basis of completely phony statistics about medical care for the elderly, FDR passed Social Security (when he was in electoral trouble in 1936) pushing false data about widows and orphans, and between 1897 and 1908, pushing for the 16th Amendment, nearly three-quarters of the Federal spending increase for Army posts and arsenals went to the 17 states which had been opposed to income tax legislation. And, of course, who can forget Mencken’s immortal quote from the 1930s:

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

Thanks again for a marvelous blog and even more marvelous holsters. Now when you add the 6″ Longslide to your guns …

We have done several longslide 1911’s.
