This may be a part of our future.

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 31st May 2008

I’m no tree-hugger, but I want a clean planet for my grandchildren. I’m also concerned about the long-term future of fossil fuels.

Have you heard of growing algae as a fuel source? It’s being called, “Green Crude.” Check it out here. I remember seeing a story on TV about this that was encouraging.

I’m all for alternative energy sources so long as they are competitive in every way.

People will buy a better solution without being coerced. Keep Big Brother out of it.

    Before we went into Iraq…

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 29th May 2008

Long before we went into Iraq there was agreement in this country that Saddam was a real threat and that he could not be allowed to continue developing WMD’s. After we went in and found little in the way of WMD’s, most democrats pretended that they had never supported the war in Iraq. The intelligence was flawed, but everyone believed it - not just George Bush.

You might enjoy this video clip of what was said by the dems before the war.

Disclaimer: Video was prepared by the GOP, however, it’s simply clips of Democrats speaking with nothing added.

“Spend your money on quality leather…”

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 25th May 2008

    Rob:
I took a class at United States Shooting Academy (usshootingacademy.com) last week.  Course was Intro to Marksmanship and it is the basic course so you can move on to Defensive handgun courses.

I wore “The Answer” to the course as I carry every day so it was just normal to carry to class.  As the course proceeded and we had shot I was showing empty and then holstering my XD45.  One of the instructors noticed the holster and asked about it.

I was proud to show him my Tucker Gunleather “The Answer“.  He was impressed and commented on the quality.

    Answer.jpg

Later, as the class was winding down and we were back in the classroom to get the certificates for completion the subject of holsters for CCW came up.  So the instructer said “Jim, show them your setup.  So I stood up, lifted my shirt and showed my 18 fellow classmates my “Answer.”

The instructor said, this is what I mean by investing in a quality holster and gunbelt.  I probably have spent $10,000.00 in holster in the last 20 years.  I have boxes of them at home that I wore  and tossed in the box.  Spend your money on quality leather and you won’t regret it.

Thanks again for a quality product.  People can see the quality… and I got to plug Tucker Gunleather.

                                       Jim

The Cover Up remains a favorite holster

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 19th May 2008

Tucker’s Cover Up IWB remains a favorite with our customers and got a recent boost from the American Cop article written by Mark Hanten. The result of the article was a flood of orders (Tucker’s catching up on them).

I was invited recently to visit a forum with which I wasn’t familiar by a customer who told me that’s how he had discovered us. The Forum is called Total Protection Interactive. (You may want to check it out, especially if you’re considering appendix carry.)

The thread was all about how people were using Tucker’s Cover Up so I registered and introduced myself.

Soon after a great post showed up in the form of a review of the the Cover Up for appendix carry and I thought I’d share it with you. You may get some good carry ideas.

Here’s a picture from the post. There are many other well-done photos.

The Cover Up remains one of the most versatile IWB’s available anywhere. In fact, we just came out with a kydex version of it and a leather-lined kydex version called the Silent Thunder IWB with a short turnaround time for delivery. Demand is already strong.

    Pistol cams are coming soon

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 15th May 2008

Here’s something you’ll want to hang from your pistol’s accessory rail. Be the first on your block to have a pistol cam. Police departments may be using these soon to record police actions.

At about $600 it’s the perfect accessory for the average guy who has too much money and not enough nifty accessories hanging off his pistol already.

I’m curious to see how long it will take before Tucker gets a request for a holster for one of these bulky add-ons.  Here’s the video.

M1911.org Review of Tucker’s “Easy Reach” kydex.

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 11th May 2008

Reviews of Tucker’s new kydex holsters are beginning to show up online. Here’s one that popped up today, well-written by Don DeBusk and published in the M1911.org ezine.

There’s also a link to a discussion forum as well.

This is one of many reviews and articles about Tucker’s new Kydex holsters. There are several gun writers with samples in hand, writing articles right now.

One of the reasons I’m so excited about these new holsters is the wonderful feedback we’re getting, but another is that we can actually grow our business with orders we can ship within a couple of weeks instead of adding to our backlog.

Our kydex Easy Reach and Silent Thunder holsters ship in 3 weeks from time of order.

    Thanks for your service.

Posted by Rob Longenecker on 10th May 2008

I was in San Antonio last weekend with Beth, enjoying the beautiful weather and the River Walk. We stayed at a hotel just south of town and rode the Yellow Line into downtown and the River Walk so we could leave the car at the hotel.

We met a guy from the 10th Mountain Division riding the bus with his wife and daughter and got to talking. He was home for 18 days of R&R from Iraq and spending it with his family. His haircut gave him away and I asked if he was in the service so that’s how the conversation started.

As luck would have it we ran into him again several hours later heading back to the hotel and talked some more.

Afterward, Beth and I kept thinking of all he and his family were going through, particularly the separation (he was part of a 15 month deployment). In all that we had talked to them about, there wasn’t one complaint. They were both doing their duty and doing it with honor.

I spoke to a customer in Iraq today, in fact I woke him up with my call to tell him we were shipping his order. I have quite a few customers serving in Irag, heading to Iraq and returning from Iraq.

I just want to say how proud I am of you guys (and your families) and “thank you for your service.”
