Do you need a permit?

Posted by Rob Longenecker on September 16th, 2007

Do you need a permit?  Not for your gun – for your camera.

You may need a permit to take a picture or video and then post it on the internet.

Did you know that the U.S. Government, state governments, county and city governments often require a permit?

Did you know there could be penalties for use for any purpose other than showing your pictures to family and friends?

Are you a professional photographer? An amateur? Do you take photographs or videos and post them on a special interest website, a photo gallery website or Youtube?

Better check this out. It’s PictureAmerica.org and it will open your eyes to yet another intrusion by government in our lives. You can help, if so inclined. Give it a quick visit.

The guy who runs the website is my brother, John Longenecker, who won an Oscar in 1971. John knows several things very well: movies, photography, legal agreements and the intrusion of government.
