They got me! I was phone-scammed.

Posted by Rob Longenecker on August 28th, 2007

I got scammed today. At least it wasn’t for money – just my time on the phone. The funny part is – I’m not upset so much as amazed at how well the scam worked.

I heard my home phone ring, saw that it was a “market research” company and monitored the message. I then heard the speaker use my name and the year and make of my automobile. He said they were inviting owners of this make of automobiles to a two-hour event downtown where we would be paid $250 to let them ask questions about our vehicles and then ask what we wanted to see in future vehicles. The date and time were specific.

I got hooked by the offer of $250 and picked up the phone……..

Find out what happened in my next post. Anybody already know?

Rob
